Three bars that are definitely to be on this rotation are 1. Tired Hands Brewing Company in Ardmore, 2. Barcade Philadelphia in Northern Liberties neighborhood, and 3. Prism Brewing Company in North Wales/Lansdale. These are unique and fun places that share a passion for outstanding, exceptional beers. Beer Pr …

Love Craft brew? So do we, but we love to make it even more than drinking it (well maybe). Beginner, amateur, novice or thinking of going pro, you are welcome in our homebrew club. We're going to learn about brewing beer, different styles, gadgets, how to taste beer and submit your beer for competition. What we are not, is a social drinking club. We stress education and responsible drinking. You don't have to brew beer to join the club, but once you do, you'll be hooked (so be forewarned). This …

1/1/13 Update from the Organizer: Hope everyone had a very happy New Years... One of my resolutions will be to schedule a wider variety of activities on a more frequent basis throughout the new year. And with over 200 members, it would be great if everyone could make a "resolution" to come on out to one of our activities and get to know other members. It's 2013... Winter is here... The days are short and getting colder. This can be a fun time of the year. And we will be scheduling a mix of indo …
Meetup group intended to explore Washington's craft beer scene. There are plenty of interesting taps around the city and some breweries as well. We'll try to sample some of their wares, and we'll do so in a way that respects the beverage, the craft, and each other (i.e., this is NOT for the binge crowd!). Anyone interested in tasting and learning about a chronically underrated and underestimated craft, and doing so in moderation, is invited to join. We do monthly events, and if you want to mee …

One of the oldest and largest of the German-American clubs in Philadelphia, the Cannstatter Volksfest-Verein was founded in 1873 for the purpose of celebrating the customs and traditions of their homeland, especially the annual harvest festival held in the town of Bad Cannstatt. In addition, they hoped to use any income from the organization for charitable purposes. In the 125 years since that founding, all of the club's purposes have been impressively maintained. The annual Fest held on Labor …

We're a group of mostly single, mostly child-free women in our 30s, living around Howard County, Anne Arundel County, Annapolis, Frederick & Baltimore. ** This is NOT a meetup overly-controlled by the organizers. We encourage all active members to post ideas and host their own events. We think a group-environmen …

We’ll engage in indoor activities as well as outdoor ones - anything from a Sunday brunch to a walk in the Wissahickon. Or bring your significant other to share that potion of passion to inject some spice into your relationship. The objective of this collective of Libati …
This is a group dedicated to all things pizza, from its history, to cooking, to sampling some of the best pies in the local area and beyond. It is also a support group for those with a compulsion towards the greatest food ever tossed. Discussion of fast food and frozen pizza is allowed but not necessarily eaten. No, we are focused on pizza as art with the motto that if tastes good, it is good. An overriding obsession is to find a really good New York style pizza in the DC area while sampling all …

A forum just for area mead makers to discuss techniques, tastes, and the joy of the art. Sub-categories of mead are fair game, eg, melomels, metheglin, cyser, braggot, etc. However, traditional wine making and homebrewing discussions are generally excluded. They have enough help already!
This is a great chance for all beer lovers, home brewers, and meade fans to meet on a weekly basis with the luxury of having Cork & Fork Wine and Beer store as the venue! The best way to learn is to experience, and with beer, the best way to experience is to taste. Every week we will go through new beers, try different styles, chat about what we like and don't like, and generally talk about beer and beer related products.

This group is for people who would rather entertain in their own home than go out to a restaurant for fun. If you don't have the room for entertaining then that's ok but you need to be willing to contribute food and drink on a regular basis when other members hold events in their homes. The idea is for someone to host a get together (dinner party, wine tasting, movie night, barbecue, whatever) and determine a "theme". The host(ess) generally provides the main dish and the others bring theme o …

Members and their guests are required to pay a non-refundable, $2 event fee, which will be collected at the event.
